Batya é surpreendida por uma criança que surge vinda do mar e a persegue como uma sombra; a sua vida transforma-se assim que decide tomar conta dela. Joy é uma criada de origem filipina que trabalha para uma velha rezingona; inconscientemente, ela contribui para a reconciliação da sua patroa com a sua distante filha. Um filme mosaico composto por histórias de um quotidiano à beira do absurdo. At her wedding reception, Keren breaks a leg, unwillingly forcing her to cancel her honeymoon in the Caribbean. A strange little girl comes out of the sea and follows Batya like a shadow; the woman's life is transformed when she takes the little girl under her wing. Joy is a maid from the Philippines working for a tough old woman; unwittingly, she helps the woman reconcile with her estranged daughter A composite film made from scraps of humanity, like so many messages in a bottle verging on the absurd. A portrait of a messy world in which everyone scrapes by as best they can, looking for love and something to remember or to forget. Such is life in Tel Aviv...

Etgar Keret

Nascido em 1967, Etgar Keret é o escritor mais popular entre a juventude de Israel. Muitas das suas histórias, já publicadas em 24 línguas, foram adaptadas para teatro e televisão. Em 1998 foi galardoado com um dos mais importantes prémios literários de Israel e o livro “The Nimrod fl ipout” foi escolhido pelo L.A. Times e o Boston Phoenix como um dos melhores livros de 2007. A sua primeira curta metragem “Skin Deep” (1996), recebeu vários prémios em festivais internacionais de cinema e recebeu o Oscar Israelita em 1996.

Born in 1967, Etgar Keret is the most popular writer among Israeli youth today. Etgar’s stories, published in twenty four languages, have also been adapted for the stage and the screen worldwide. He has received the prime minister award for literature in 1998 and the book “The Nimrod fl ipout” was chosen by the L.A. Times and the Boston Phoenix as one of the best books of 2007. His first short movie, « Skin Deep » (1996-40’), won prizes at several international film festivals, and was awarded the 1996 Israeli Oscar.

Shira Geffen

Shira Geffen nasceu em 1971 e é principalmente reconhecida em Israel pelos seus livros infantis e pelas peças de teatro que dirigiu em Israel e no estrangeiro. Shira Geffen é autora do argumento e co-realizadora de Jellyfish.

Born in 1971, scriptwritter and Jellyfish co-director, Shira Geffen is one of the most creative artists nowadays in Israel. She has been specially recognized for her children books and her plays and stage directions on tour in Israel and abroad.
