Num autocarro cheio de fãs a caminho da final do Mundial de Futebol de 2006 (Irão-Bahrain), esconde-se uma mulher disfarçada de homem. Um soldado descobre-a antes do jogo começar e leva-a para um recinto onde estão outras mulheres vestidas de homem. Amantes de futebol, privadas de ver o jogo, as mulheres vão ouvindo, com uma ansiedade genuína, os escassos relatos que um dos guardas deixa escapar. Entre conversas mulheres e homens deixam cair o pano das convenções numa comédia inteligente que ilustra a luta pelo direito das mulheres no Irão.

Who is that strange boy sitting quietly in the corner of a bus full of screaming fans going to the football match? In fact, this shy boy is a girl in disguise. She is not alone, women also love football in Iran. Before the game begins, she is arrested at the check point and put into a holding pen just by the stadium with a band of other women all dressed up as men. They will be handed over to the vice squad after the match. They must endure every cheer, every shout of a game they cannot see. Yet, these young girls just won't give up. They use every trick in the book to see the match. A smart comedy illustrating the fight for women's rights in Iran.

Jafar Panahi nasceu em 1960 no Irão. Realizador persa internacionalmente aclamado e um dos mais influentes do movimento do novo cinema iraniano, Panahi conquistou o reconhecimento junto dos críticos de cinema e recebeu vários prémios, incluindo um Leão de Ouro em Veneza e um Urso de Prata em Berlim. Os seus filmes "O Círculo" e "Sangue e Ouro" foram proibidos pelo governo islâmico do Irão.

Jafar Panahi was born in 1960 in Iran. He is an internationally-acclaimed Persian filmmaker and one of the most influential filmmakers in Iranian new wave movement. He has gained recognition from film critics worldwide and received numerous awards including Golden Lion at Venice and Silver Bear of Berlin. His two films "The Circle" and "Crimson Gold" were forbidden by the Islamic government of Iran.
